July 22, 1981, Bob Ketterling of Faulkton purchased a 旋转木马 at an auction in Edgemont, S.D.  旋转木马是No .. 8、1925年由C.W. 派克有限公司. 堪萨斯州的莱文沃思. It has 19 of the 20 original aluminum horses and the 2 chariot seats, one red and one blue.

1981年8月, he began giving free rides to all and planned "The Happy Times Park" around the 旋转木马. He died in 1988 and Faulkton was named the "Carousel 城市" in his memory. In 1990 the 城市 purchased the Carousel from his widow.

Carousel Hours (Memorial Day to Labor Day):

The 城市公园 has 6 camping spots and are on a first come first serve basis. There's electricity available but no water or sewer hock ups in the camping spots. However there's a sewer dumping station and water spout next to the park bathrooms. 我们不接受预订!

• 利率: Your first four (4) nights are free or a donation is welcome!  Five (5) nights or more we charge $20.00元每晚.

希望公园和游乐场 is located just south of the Faulkton Area Medical Center on 14^th 大道南. The park came to fruition after two years of fundraising and was built with a lot of volunteers helping, 儿童和成人都可以. The idea of the park began in 2017 when Beth Deiter of Faulkton wanted to do something for the community to commemorate her 25^th 摆脱癌症一周年纪念日.  The hospital donated some property south of their facility and with the help of a $25,000.00 donation of seed money from Deiter, the project, 希望公园和游乐场, began.  Her vision for the park was to have a place for people to take a break when visiting or staying with a loved one in the hospital and would be a place for all family members, 年轻人和老年人, 与长椅, shelters and playground equipment.  Today the playground equipment includes activities for 9-month-old children to 12-year old’s as well as outdoor musical instruments and is also handicap accessible. The playground has been proven to be a favorite place for the neighborhood children to visit and a wonderful asset for the community.

The John and Alice Pickler home on the south edge of Faulkton is a prairie Victorian home featuring 20 rooms in three stories. Construction began in 1882 when Major Pickler, 内战老兵, built his claim shanty on his pre-emption near the Nixon River of Faulk County, 达科塔州的领土.  There was no architect for the construction of this prairie mansion, which was built in stages and completed by 1894.

Many events took place in this commonly called "Pink Castle". From weddings, proms, funerals to being a polling place for the township for many years. The home was used to host many visiting dignitaries including Susan B. Anthony, who stayed with them in 1890, and Teddy Roosevelt.

Built in 1950 by brothers Leo and Cyril Huss, the 抒情戏剧 is one of the oldest continuously running
南达科他州的电影院. The first movie that was played in this theater was Miss Grant Takes
Richmond, starring Lucille Ball and William Holden, in the summer of 1950. 抒情诗提供了一种独特的
experience to visitors who get to step back in time as they walk through the original wooden doors of
this historic building, while enjoying the sights and sounds of a modern-day digital theater. 大厅
and concession areas are decorated with decades of theater memorabilia collected by the Huss 家庭,
and the popcorn is still made just as it was 70+ years ago in a vintage popcorn machine. 两兄弟
ran the theater jointly until a fire in 1967, when Cyril and Dorothy Huss (his wife) bought Leo’s share and
翻新空间. The theater continues to be run by their son David Huss who can be found every
weekend in the box office greeting patrons and selling tickets.
